Northeast PA New Construction – Friday Five

New ConstructionCurrently, in Pike and Wayne County, there are about 100 new construction homes for sale on the Pike/Wayne MLS. The new house styles range from ranches to stately colonials and trendy chalet homes. While most of these new construction houses are in developments / gated communities, several are not in a development.

Speaking of developments, there are many to choose from, all over Pike and Wayne counties, each offering different amenities, lifestyles, and various fees and dues.

So, where are the most popular places for new construction homes? Here’s a handy-dandy list of 5 developments to check out. When available, I’ve provided a link to more information. To see what’s for sale in each community, use the House Seeker Links and view all of the homes (not just new construction) on the MLS.

3. Tanglwood North (official association website)

Tanglwood North CommunityYes, by now almost everyone knows that Tanglwood Ski Area closed and never opened for the 2007-08 season. While the fate of the ski area is still undetermined, the fact remains that there are nice homes to be had in the quiet and unassuming development of Tanglwood North in Tafton (Pike County, Wallenpaupack School District).

Two of the draws to Tanglwood North are the convenient location (close to Hawley, Lake Wallenpaupack and Interstate 84) and low dues. Looking for a no-frills community without high dues for amenities you’ll never use? Tanglwood North is a place to investigate.
