Here it is, another day in beautiful Northeast PA – I’ve lived in the Wayne and Pike county area all of my life,
Pocono Springs Estates
and I must say, that this time of year is my favorite.
A lot of the Poconos charm is sometimes lost with the hustle and bustle of progress – when I was a kid the only “strip mall” I remember was the Route 6 Plaza in Honesdale, and it was quite an event when the McDonald’s opened up (previously, we had to go to Port Jervis NY or Scranton for some Mickey-D’s!)
At any rate, progress has hit the Poconos full steam ahead, and sometimes, people are disappointed that they will have to contend with traffic sounds or close neighbors in some parts of the Pocono Mountains.
Not so in Pocono Springs Estates. This community is practically a secret treasure in Wayne County. In Pocono Springs, you will find that most of the houses have generous space between them (and you’ll be surprised at how few houses there are.) It is not far from Interstate 84, which makes it convenient for travel.
Deer in the Wood
There are tons of deer running about; lots of trees, and lots of undeveloped spaces. I’m not worried about giving away the secret, because many of the lots in Pocono Springs are unbuildable – which means that they will not be developed.
(This is unfortunate, however, for the owners of the lots. They purchased the lots intending to build a home there, only to find out they could not. Never, ever buy a lot without a valid perc test, without discovering whether it is in a wetland, and make sure the title is clear. Purchase title insurance! Caveat Emptor!)
Pocono Springs is an affordable gated community with paved roads, a lovely lake perfect for swimming or fishing, and an impressive recreation center (including a beautiful swimming pool.)
How affordable? Try $650 per year – when other communities charge more, for less amenities!
