5 More Masthope Picks – Karen’s Friday Five

Here’s another edition of Karen’s Friday Five. This time, I have chosen some random homes for sale in Masthope that I thought were worth taking a look at.

Roomy Ranch Home with Open Layout

Roomy Ranch Home with Open Layout

This first one was an Open House last week.  I’m going to write a blog specifically about this house in the near future; it’s that cute.  I think some people are skeptical of how nice this home actually is for the price – at only $129,900, it’s easily one of the most affordable little places in Masthope.  It has two good-size bedrooms, a huge open living area, and my favorite – a screened porch in the back.  Lots of windows.  Sure, there’s paneling, but that’s nothing a little paint can’t fix!   At this price, you really can’t go wrong.  2 Bedrooms, 1 bath, 1,000 square feet, close to the amenities, too.

UPDATE: THIS HOME IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE BUT WATCH FOR IT SOON!!!!

New Contemporary Oversized Chalet

New Contemporary Oversized Chalet

The next home only has one picture available, because when Weichert Realtors Paupack Group listed it, construction was still in high swing; I walked through the house trying to imagine the room layout when there was nothing but studs.  :0)

As soon as updated pictures are available, I’ll post them – but the outside of this new home has a lot of appeal and it’s a nice change from the typical chalet homes currently dominating the Masthope (and much of Pike & Wayne County) market.  Price:  $269,000. Two master suites on the first floor, two bedrooms upstairs.  3 baths, basement, central air, and a fireplace too!

UPDATE: THIS HOME IS NOW SOLD

No Ordinary Cape Cod!

No Ordinary Cape Cod!

On the outside, house number three looks like an ordinary Cape Cod.  But I chose to use this inside shot instead – this is not your ordinary Cape!  It has a bright interior and a loft.  Also a new construction, this home has a covered front porch, giving it charming curb appeal.  Three bedrooms, a loft, central air, and a full basement are but part of this package.  Priced to sell at $239,900.

Masthope Log Home

Masthope Log Home

A log cabin in the woods – isn’t that everyone’s dream?  When I first walked through this home, I was overwhelmed with how pretty it was; the skylights were just pouring sunshine all over the place!  This log sided home is the perfect compromise for someone who wants a log home but prefers to have a brighter interior over the traditional “woodsy” interior.   It’s in a more private spot with great views of the Pike County forest, what more could you want?  In addition to being  in the woods, you also have all those Masthope amenities to keep you busy: swimming and boating in the summer, skiing in the winter, horseback riding for whenever! Priced at $249,000, with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, full basement – 2,500 square feet of Pocono livin’!

UPDATE: THIS HOME IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE as of 12/28/08

Sunny & Bright Living Area

Sunny & Bright Living Area

Our last pick for today is a large ranch on Paul Revere Drive.  Very close to the ski slopes, clubhouse, and the huge swimming pool, this home is perfect for large family get-togethers!  It has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a full finished basement with a gigantic family room.  There’s a two car garage as well, a workshop, and a fantastic wrap around deck.  The living area is open and very bright with lots of windows and sliders to welcome the Pocono mountain sunshine and fresh air!   Priced at only $199,900, it’s definitely worth visiting…it could be love at first sight!
