Your Credit Report

Mortgage pro Jason Sardi has posted an excellent article with tips on making the most of your credit creditcardsreport. Credit reports are certainly on people’s minds these days, especially if planning on purchasing a home. How does your credit report measure up?  Does it need some help?

Most of Jason’s insights are common sense (which doesn’t surprise me in the least, as Jason has always seemed to me to be practical and sensible.)  Here is something Jason shared that I  thought would be informative to share with my readers who are thinking of purchasing their first home in the near future:

…pay your rent by check and keep copies of your canceled checks.  Twelve months worth will do (pay month by month, pre-paid bulk payments won’t do you any favors…create a consistent history).  This establishes a housing history. While it doesn’t do anything positive for your credit, it does wonders when you apply to buy a home.
